About

The Agricultural University of Georgia (AUG) is a private institution founded in 1929 and revitalized in 2011 by the Knowledge Fund established by philanthropist Kakha Bendukidze. AUG unites three schools—Agricultural & Natural Sciences, Engineering & Technology, and Business & Social Sciences—along with a newly created School of Veterinary Medicine. The university delivers English- and Georgian-medium degrees that integrate experimental research, entrepreneurship, and sustainability across food systems, environmental science, agribusiness, and engineering.

Its 60-hectare Tbilisi campus houses 70+ research laboratories, precision agriculture greenhouses, food technology pilot plants, robotics & mechatronics labs, drone testing grounds, and experimental vineyards/orchards located in Kakheti and Kvemo Kartli. AUG collaborates with the University of California Davis, Wageningen University, Texas A&M, and regional agritech startups through Erasmus+, USAID, and Horizon projects. Students receive career mentoring, incubation support via the Knowledge Fund’s venture studio, and international mobility options across Europe and the US.
