Is MBBS abroad valid in India?

Yes, a foreign MBBS degree can be valid in India only if all NMC conditions are met:

  • The medical university is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS)
  • Course duration is minimum 54 months
  • 12 months internship is completed as per regulations
  • Medium of instruction is English
  • The student has qualified NEET (where applicable)
  • The student clears the applicable licensing exam (FMGE / NExT)

Is NEET mandatory for MBBS abroad?

NEET qualification is mandatory for Indian students who:

  • Plan to practice medicine in India after MBBS abroad
  • Wish to appear for FMGE / NExT and obtain NMC registration
Important: Without qualifying NEET, you will not be eligible for FMGE / NExT and cannot practice medicine in India.

What is the minimum eligibility for MBBS abroad?

  • 50% in PCB for General category
